Why am I not getting emails from Campus Club?
Your email system may be mistaking Campus Club as Spam. To fix this, you have to log into your email, go to the Spam folder, then select the emails from "ClubExpress" (our software vendor) and click a button or select from a drop-down list that it is "not spam".

Here are links to some of the more common email systems with instructions.

How do I view or change my Interest Group membership?

Login to the portal, click the down arrow next to your name in the upper right corner of the page and then click “Profile”. In the Website box, click on Interests. All Interest Groups are displayed in two categories: Day and Evening/Weekend. To opt in to a group, click the checkbox. To opt out, uncheck the box. Then scroll to the bottom and click SAVE. The next time the Interest Group Leader uses the portal to retrieve an updated group contact list or to email the group, your change will be reflected. If you would like some introductory information about the group, feel free to email the group leader and request it.

How secure is my personal information?

It is as secure as it is with your bank. Because ClubExpress (who hosts our site and portal) conforms to all the same security standards as a merchant account company, you are as safe with them as with any other financial institution who has a presence on the web. Sure, hackers hack. But the likelihood of hackers bothering with ClubExpress is minimal. If they are going to risk what they do to hack, they are going after bigger fish!

Why is my credit card transaction from “ClubExpress”?

ClubExpress is the credit card processing company as well as a software company.

How do I add a picture to my profile?

Login to the portal, click the down arrow next to your name in the upper right corner of the page and then click “Profile”. In the Personal Information box, there is an option for “Standard Member Directory”. When you click that, a screen comes up where you can enter your Biography and your Photo (at the bottom of the page).

Should I save my credit card when I am completing payment for an event or dues?

ClubExpress, our credit card processor, allows you to store a credit card in the system, so that you don’t need to re-enter it each time it’s needed. This is optional; if you don’t store it, you can still pay with a credit card by entering the required information. If you choose to store your credit card, you can be reassured that it is maintained in an encrypted database –separate from our membership database—which is compliant with the PCI (Payment Card Industry) rules for storing and protecting credit card data that cannot be read except by the software and then, only under program control.

Even club administrators who have security clearance to view payments or issue refunds cannot ever see the credit card numbers, not even when processing a refund to that card.

And to provide an additional layer of protection, all credit card transactions are conducted in secure sessions apart from the membership or event registration.

Why can’t I find the Membership Directory menu item?

The most likely explanation is that you are not logged in. Accessing this information is safeguarded behind the user name and password of each member. Login and the menu item will be there.

What is a “Bio”?

A "bio" is a short history of your life. This is an optional feature that is part of what appears in the member directory. To create one, login to the system and go to your Profile page. From the Personal Info box, select Standard Member Directory. There you will see a text box where you can type  your information. Don’t forget to click Save at the bottom or your changes will be lost.

Is there someplace on the portal where I can see if I have paid for an event or membership?

Yes. Login to the portal, click the down arrow next to your name in the upper right corner of the page and then click “Profile”. In the Financial/Historical Data box, select Payment/Credit History to view all payments and credits associated with your account. If you have any questions or problems, please contact the

What does it mean that my Campus Club account will be credited?

If you have paid for an event by credit card or check and you cancel before the event cancellation date, a credit will be issued to your Campus Club portal account which can be applied to future event fees.

If you would like to have a refund check, please contact our Treasurer.

What is “ClubExpress” and why did Duke Campus Club need it?

Before adopting ClubExpress, Campus Club had multiple systems to maintain member records and communicate with the membership. These systems could not communicate with each other and no matter how diligent we were to keep them in sync, it was never as good as a consolidated system.

ClubExpress is an Internet service designed for membership-based clubs and associations of all kinds. By simplifying club administration, ClubExpress gives clubs a more efficient and reliable way to process paperwork, collect dues and registration fees, communicate about events and other topics of interest, and provides more accurate information about members and their involvement so our volunteer officers and leaders have more time to pursue their interests.

The membership database is built into the ClubExpress website, providing a secure portal so members log in to update their own personal information and to access features for members only, including an event calendar, member directory, interests groups, surveys, downloadable documents, and photos. And it makes it easy for you to access member contact information for other members from anywhere.

ClubExpress also provides credit card processing. They maintain the highest possible levels of security to safeguard your data similar to that used by banks and financial institutions.

ClubExpress does not put advertising on our website. And in spite of providing sophisticated services, the fees are remarkably low. In fact, the fees are only slightly more than we were paying before, but everything is in sync and member communication both from leadership to the membership as well as between members is enhanced.

What is “News” in the main menu bar?

"News" is a module of the software that provides a way to update members on what is going on. During the initial phase of using the software, we will be posting all the newsletters that were sent in prior years. We may use this space differently in the future, but for now it is where to access newsletters from recent years.

What does “member portal” mean?

The definition of a portal is a doorway, gate, or other entrance, especially a large and elaborate one. In this case, it refers to the fact that members can enter into a secure and private space to get details about club activities and access member contact information from our secure online directory. Each member has a unique username (which she can edit) and password (which she can personalize) in order to enter into the secure side of the web site.
